"HOT PICKS - John Winslow" At the Fraser Gallery Bethesda to November 12, 2003 By Joanna Shaw-Eagle © Washington Times Thursday, October 8, 2003. Reprinted with permission from the Washington Times It's a treat for Washingtonians that the well-known realist painter John Winslow is showing new works at the Fraser Gallery in Bethesda. A native Washingtonian and former professor of art at the Catholic University of America, Mr. Winslow paints layered scenarios of paintings within paintings for scenes resembling stage sets. "I create characters in the works that resemble actors on a stage," Mr. Winslow says. He named this particular exhibit "Air and Space" and dedicated it to the lives of flight pioneers Wilbur and Orville Wright. At the Fraser Gallery, 7700 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda. 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday through Nov. 12. Free. 301/718-9651.
